[Swipe! ๐Ÿ‘] The other day I went to the gym by myself, with no time limit, to do a workout simply for self care. It was so nice ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ I forgot how therapeutic training could be. I didnโ€™t have to film but I was in the mood for it so I brought along my camera & tripod โ˜บ๏ธ - GLUTE BUILDING WORKOUT 1๏ธโƒฃ๐ŸŒธBOX SQUAT - I love this variation for learning & practicing how to engage your glutes in the stretched position! I take a wide stance & focus on keeping my knees turned out, sitting down completely, then driving up thru my glutes. 2๏ธโƒฃ๐ŸŒธ AMERICAN DEADIFT - this deadlift variation is a cross between the RDL & the conventional deadlift. Control the weight down & back up like an RDL but bend at the knees like a conventional deadlift. This allows us to set our hips back farther putting more torque on the hips & thus recruiting the glutes more. Lock glutes out at the top but keep torso neutral - donโ€™t lean back! 3๏ธโƒฃ๐ŸŒธHIP THRUST - I find a slightly than shoulder width stance, & feet out just enough to get knees at at 90* angle at the top to work best for me for glute engagement, but try different feet positions to find what works best for you ๐Ÿค— 4๏ธโƒฃ๐ŸŒธBB SPLIT SQUAT - I always do a unilateral booty exercise to help with asymmetries ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ usually I prefer a walking lunge tbh but I actually really liked this slightly longer stride split squat! My tip is to try to lower your hip back while keeping all of your weight on your working leg, using your back leg only for balance. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ - I think swipey videos are most popular? I didnโ€™t know much, so basically I got my hair bleached over and over again at a bunch of different places with no olaplex (bond builder) ๐Ÿ˜ญ it started breaking off at the root & falling out ๐Ÿ˜– I got hair extensions, which I didnโ€™t like, so then I chopped all my hair off bc itโ€™s all I had left ๐Ÿ™ˆ - Long story short now Iโ€™m SUPER cautious with my hair, I wonโ€™t bleach it without olaplex, and Iโ€™m SOO HAPPY to have found a salon in the UK that is extremely knowledgeable on hair, how to achieve the trendy colours, but know how to protect, treat & maintain hair at the same time ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผโœจ - You guys know the last time I went I was sooo happy, I got it all over lightened and toned an ash blonde ๐Ÿ˜ this time I got it treated with olaplex & retoned!! My hair is literally the prettiest and most silkiest smooth & healthy ITS EVER BEEN ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜ญ #hairgoals - This is after 4 washes and itโ€™s still the same tone, if you swipe you can see the @labelmuk products @thehivesalonuk gave me to maintain it!! ABOUT ABS ๐Ÿ’œ Guys Iโ€™ma be honest with you lol I H8๏ธโƒฃ training abs and I donโ€™t train them very often, maybe once every 2 weeks to maintain. I especially dislike long, laborious circuits ๐Ÿ˜ฉ . For this reason I am EFFICIENT. When I train abs, I specifically target the RECTUS ABDOMINIS muscle which is the 6-pack, or the most superficial muscle. This is the โ€˜absโ€™ we see!!! . I do 2 maybe 3 exercises tops, 3 sets, 10-15 reps just like I would train ANY other muscle for HYPERTROPHY. No 1000 reps 64 exercises back to back no rest here ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ (unless the @_themorris makes me in which case I do to b a good friend lmao #sheknows) . For โ€œcoreโ€ which are internal stabilizer abdominal muscles, I let deadlifts and squats take care of this, they are incredible for building core strength. . ๐ŸšซIโ€™M NOT SAYING ab/core circuits are ineffective at all!๐Ÿšซ they train both abs & core at the same time and even tho they usually arenโ€™t in the *ideal* hypertrophy rep range (8-15) they are challenging and keep you working & occupied. The most important thing is to train in a way that motivates you and keeps you going to the gym ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ so if you love ab circuits keep doing them!!! But if you haaate em like I do then thereโ€™s more than one way to train๐Ÿค—โœจ .
